    hello
    can you help me I recently brought a pith helmet inside got wd 2 1905
    other side c l Thomas Berkshire yeomary
    its seemed to be that helmet in the picture above it got the same red stain at front and two round dots.
    it has got a dull Berkshire yeomany badge on front the helmet is very dirty
    can any one help
    also the helmet camewith his picture

      Shaun,

      if everything is as you say then you have the helmet in question.

      I was asked if I could identify the helmet and therefore the regiment from the photo. After considerable research and the assistance of those mentioned in the Sources I was able to write the article.

      The badge to the front is a later addition which I removed via Photoshop.

      I have never seen nor handled the helmet.

      A friend in the US was asked to identify the helmet but could not so asked me.

      Thanks but I have enough photos of the helmet.

      There is no way of telling when the badge was added.

      You did not really pay GBP3000 for it did you?
